[9] STUDY PROGRAMME

The study programme of the Film and TV career had great changes last year, but unfortunately these changes did not affect my generation. In fact, my generation is the last one with the old program.

But speaking from my own experience and opinion, and without considering the new study programme, I feel there are many things that can be changed. The main criticism of this program is the lack of specialization that exists in the different branches of film and television. We are all equally taught general knowledge of all areas, without giving space to each to follow their own interests and specialize to have a mention in some area, for example in the case of cinema, I would like to specialize in the area of edition and art direction.

Another criticism of this program is the complexity of organizing film branches, which are more practical, and the communication subjects, which are more theoretical. And in the case of the latest, often the contents are very similar to the contents of other subjects, so they are very repetitive. They should look for a way for all branches to work better and join together to save time and understand them better.

As for the infrastructure and facilities of the faculty, it would be great if you could have better spaces and equipment for the Film and TV career and Journalism, since there are always few rooms available, and for the number of students you have to be constantly organizing. For example, there should be more TV studios, since it is a comfortable space to work in different branches of both careers, and they bring you closer to real working conditions, but because many people use it, they have to adapt auditorium or other rooms in order to work. It also happens with the editing rooms, which often are not available to work here in the university. It would be great if there were more spaces where you could rest or do work while waiting between two classes.
